Update: "Old law school"

An article was published in the Casper Star Tribune based on recollections of the old University of Wyoming College of Law building that were gathered by Phil White. The digital version is available as 'A glorious building'. The print version (August 20, 2007) is accompanied by a color photo.

This is a great article--thanks, Phil!

LexisNexis Congressional - Now Available!

Due to the generosity of the University of Wyoming libraries, all Wyoming citizens now have access to the LexisNexis Congressional Research Digital Collection and U.S. Serial Set Digital Collection (1789 - 1969).

These databases allow you to explore Congress in action with the most comprehensive online resource available for congressional publications and legislative research. You can perform in-depth research in public policy, historical, and legal areas of interest. The subscription includes abstracts and indexing for congressional publications, legislative histories, member biographies, committee assignments, voting records, and financial data; and the full text of key regulatory and statutory resources.

If you have a WYLD library card (from your local county or community college library), you can log in remotely with this URL: http://proxy.lib.wy.us/login?url=http://web.lexisnexis.com/congcomp. If you do not yet have a WYLD card, you can access this rich online resource at your local library.

FYI--the law library is planning on joining the WYLD circulation system. You will then be able to use your law library account to access all WYLD online resources. We are in the process currently of linking all items that are not in storage in preparation for circulation.

If you have any questions about WYLD databases, please feel free to contact us!

Old law school

This was a question posted to the WyomingAttorneys-l email discussion list. I have posted it here with the author's permission. [Note: When I was in school (early 90s), this was the Anthrology building.]

The University of Wyoming will soon be razing the old law school on Ivinson Ave. I was thinking of doing a little article about it for the Casper Star. I would appreciate any anecdotes or memories related to your experience there.

Thank you.
